So the other night, I came home from work and promptly fell asleep on the couch for about 90 minutes. As one does. By the time I woke up, it was nearly 7:30pm, and neither mom nor I had eaten dinner, nor did we have any ideas about what to eat other than we knew we needed to eat. So we began looking through the cupboards and the pantry to see what we could make, which turned up bupkis unless we wanted to eat boxed macaroni cheese, which no. So we did the natural thing: we sat on the couch for another half-hour and did nothing about putting food in our faces until mom turned to me and said, “wanna go to McDonald’s and get some chickie nuggets?” and I was, surprisingly, all like “DEAR GOD YES.” so we went to McDonald’s. pictures of drawings on money
I have a job that is the sort of thing where you find ways to keep yourself entertained so you don’t stab yourself in the eye with a letter opener. Since I am a bank teller, my entertainment comes in the form of emailing my coworkers funny pictures of cartoon bears, and taking pictures of the weird shit that people draw on money. I don’t know what retrospectus means, I just wanted to use it in a title. Continue reading HorrorHound Weekend Cincinnati 2013 – a retrospectus
that Hawksian style (updated with video!)
Last weekend was the spring edition of HorrorHound Weekend, a convention where fans can meet their favorite stars of horror film and television. I attended purely in a fan aspect, although one of these days, it might be cool to attend in a more…scholarly…approach, so I can do a bunch of write-ups for this here blorgf. I do have a separate write-up for the weekend overall – that’s coming soon – but for now, I want to focus on one of the guests at HHW who happens to be my favorite director: Continue reading that Hawksian style (updated with video!)
it is time again. time enough at last.
So this weekend is HorrorHound Weekend, the Spring Edition. I got my haircut, and I am trying to pack as light as possible because this year I cannot drive myself due to CAR ACCIDENT. Continue reading it is time again. time enough at last.
hey hey ho ho
Hello there. I have been incognitus for a short while, due to commitments outside of writing blog posts for you. A multitude of things. I also realized that my last blog post could have served as a goodbye of some kind, and ha ha ha, you can’t get rid of me that easily. Suckers. So I thought I would maybe update you on what I’ve been doing lately!
well, bye.
I dumped a couple people from some of my social networks today. I would feel bad about this, but they said one too many dipshitty things* so I was all like “OKAY BYE” and de-friended their asses.
De-friended? Is that even a word? Well, either way, fuck those people. OKAY BYEEEEEEE. Continue reading well, bye.
must/mustn’t watch cinema
So as you might have surmised, I am a great lover of film. I’ve hardly met a movie where I didn’t find at least something enjoyable or redeeming about it. Even the really terrible films might have a so-bad-it’s-good kind of quality, or there might have been one standout performance, or maybe one set piece that was very well done in all the awfulness. But then there are films that have a subject matter that, even though I found myself really connecting with the movie, I have an incredibly hard time recommending them to other people. These are films that are obviously going to be hard for other people to watch, usually because of the violence. Continue reading must/mustn’t watch cinema
facelift
As you might have noticed, or not, I changed the theme of the blog. I don’t know why I would do such a silly thing. Actually, I do. It’s because I’m a fusspot, and I’m never exactly happy for long with any one look or layout. Besides, I had the old theme for long enough.
I’m still figuring out this whole blog thing. Like how you truncate posts on your front page so the whole thing doesn’t hog up the entire timeline. Yeah, I’m sure there’s a simple way to figure that out, but I’d like to discover it on my own. Or just get frustrated enough that I’ll ask someone. Continue reading facelift
